About Our Club
Community Services
Cars of Yesteryear, Inc. members are busy during the year supporting various community activities. We provide assistance to area food shelves in the form of donations. Nursing home residents look forward to seeing the many different vehicles owned by club members and enjoy the opportunity to have a ride. We colaborate with the North Country Career Center in Newport in the annual Vehicle Safety Day. President Steven Carpenter serves on the North Country Career Center Automotive Course advisory board. The students enrolled in the automotive course conduct safety inspections of motor vehicles owned by area citizens. On safety day, we award one mechanic, 3 tier toolbox, equipped with a set of basic tools to a deserving Junior and Senior student who has excelled in the automotive course. Plus one student from the Junior Automotive Course is awarded a mechanic’s basic set of tools.
To support our annual Scholarships ($500) awarded to students advancing their knowledge in a automotive related field, we organize an International Car Show held on the first Sunday of August each year. Cruise nights are held from spring to fall to exhibit the various classic, antique vehicles, hot rods and to educate spectators. Club members participate in neighboring clubs activities, keeping interest in this hobby strong.
Our club also supports our local communities through annual donations of cash, or goods.
